* About Me *

Ann Withun, BS, CPDT-KA graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY with a degree in Mathematical Sciences.  Adopting her “Big Black Dog” Brutus from the local shelter in 2002 set her off on a new path, starting with fostering shelter dogs, becoming a “seminar junkie,” and progressing to teaching professionally.  She is an associate member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and serves on the Board of Directors of the IAABC.  Ann also serves on the Board of Directors of Dog Scouts of America, and is a local Troop Leader.  Ann is a Professional member of the APDT, and an evaluator for the new APDT C.L.A.S.S. program.

After instructing at multiple training centers, dog training camps, seminars, etc. Ann opened Good Dog Rising training & behavior in Carlisle, PA.  In her “spare time” she enjoys competing with her husband and their dogs in Agility, Rally-Obedience, Musical Canine Freestyle, and IMPROV Obedience and participating in the local library’s Kids Reading to Dogs program.  While ribbons and titles are nice, she’ll always enjoy just spending time in the woods with her canine companions most of all.
